| Founded in October 1952 as a Land Institute, the SLV Mannheim moved into a modern and geberously equipped new building in 1976. After privatisation in 1978 it is now run as nonprofit, government public institution (Ltd.) of Mannheim. the German Welding Society (DVS), and the Chamber of Commerce and Indsutry Rhine-Neckar in Mannheim. At present, the SLV Mannheim employs 40 persons on a full-time basis. Lectureships are assigned to a large number of university professors and instructors from industry. The continual actualisation and purchase of new inspection and test gears as well as welding plants provide the SLV Mannheim with the necessary eqipment for almost all poroblems and teaching subjects on the sector of welding engineering (metals and plastics). The services rendered by the SLV Mannheim are recognized in Germany and foreign countries. |
