As a goverment recognized institution the SLV is competent for the operational acceptance in many parts of Germany as well as in any foreign country within the scope of current standard specifications and regulations concerning - steel skeleton constructions - road and railway bridge constructions - cranes - hydraulic structures - non-stationary steel structures - welding of concrete reinforcing steel - steels with general qualification approval by the Building Authority e.g.   stainless steels or high tensile grain refined structural steels - approvals in individual cases Beside this the SLV Mannheim gives advice and its expert opinion concerning construction, material and manufacture in Germany and foreign countries. Another field of activity includes the welding engineering supervision of construction work during manufacture as well as during component assembly and acceptance. On demand, this also comprises the supervision and acceptance of corrosion protection measures according to DIN EN ISO 12944. These activities guarantee the reliability of the required quality and provide thus the necessary component safety.
